It could have been worse. I think that a lot of people has lost money this weekend with the losses of Lyon, PSV, Bayern Münich and Real Madrid. The draw of Liverpool etc....

I'm won a little bit of money back with a last minut bet on the correct winner of the Superbowl. My profit their was 1.08€.

I'm curious what the Italian soccer federation is going to do with the riots during the derby last friday. Such behaviour is unacceptable.

While Michaelle has a lot of potential, she still is not strong enough to win against somebody from the top 20 of the WTA ranking. She played two matches this year and lost both, so also the motivation will not be at a very high level. The only encounter between these 2 players was last year on grass. Krajicek surprised by winning in 2 straight sets. Safina already won the tournament of Gold Coast this year but failed on the Australian open, where she was eliminated by Li. I think that Safina will win this time in 2 straight sets.

Weekend 3/02/07

Before I explain my small list of pick for this weekend I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of the police officer, which died yesterday during the derby Palermo - Catania.
It is shocking that such things happen. I cannot imagine what these people are thinking. But this is not only related to football anymore. During the Australian Open of this year, for the first time ever, 2 groups of supporters attacked each other.


Frankfurt (12) - Mainz 05 (16) (Lost (0-0))
Only four points between Frankfurt and the relegation places. Mainz 05 is on a relegation spot and is trying to avoid it. Mainz won their first two games of the year, while Wasn't capable of winning one. But today they will win their first of 2007.


Liverpool (3) - Everton (8) (Lost (0-0))
Liverpool has a very good home reputation. No loses, only 2 draws and 10 victories. I think that they will add another win to the list.


Real Madrid (3) - Levante (18) (Lost (0-1))
This should not be a problem for Real. A team which wants to be the champion of Spain is obliged to win these matches.

Friday Special

Okay, I admit not a good start this month. But it only can get better.

Today two top teams (Club Brugge, FC Bayern München) are playing, who have sacked their coach this week. In Belgian Fereira was sacked after an undeserved loss at home against Roeselare, while Bayern sacked Magath (who will be coaching Hamburg).

If Fereira would still be the head coach I would give Beveren a chance but not the game after a head coach replacement.

I expect that not only the coach was sacked but also the player got a thunder speech from the directors of Bayern. The head to head stats indicate that Nürnberg at home is not a sitting duck for Bayern but still I believe in a victory for Bayern Münich. and look at the odds how nice they are. A real beauty. Therefor I will add Bayern in this combo.
